The Message nodecan be used whenever you must inform the user about something during an item configuration. There are three different message types: Information, Warning, and Error. Message nodes can be inserted next to the other node types in the modeling tree—to provide context-specific information for the product model's users.

Messages of the Errortype will end an ongoing item configuration.

1. In the Product Model Details form, right-click the Modeling treenode, select New> Message node, and then select Information, Warning, or Error, depending on the type of message you want to create. A new node appears at the bottom of the modeling tree.

2. If you want to insert a node into a particular position in the tree, drag it from the node list displayed on the left. This opens the Messageform.

3. Describe the purpose of the message in plain words in the Descriptionfield.

4. In the Textfield, type the message text.
