Before the product model can be configured to a distribution site in a multisite environment, the following conditions must be set up:

Microsoft Dynamics AX has multisite enabled. For more information, see About sites and the multisite functionality.

A single level product model exists. For more information, see Create a product model.

A distribution site exists.
-
A production site exists.

Site ID is disabled when you are adding BOM lines to product models in a multisite environment.

Site ID is disabledwhen you are adding Route lines to product models in a multisite environment.
Use the form to configure the product model for a multisite environment.

Go to > Common Forms> .

Select the appropriate product model number and then click .

Click the tab.
-
Select in the field to create the site ID system variable.

Create code that assigns the site ID system modeling variable to the product model.

Add BOM lines to the product model.
For more information, see Insert a node in the modeling tree.
The BOM lines will be added to the BOM version assigned the site ID identified by the site ID system variable.

Add route lines to the product model.
For more information, see Insert a node in the modeling tree.
The route lines will be added to the route version assigned the site ID identified by the site ID system variable.

Close the form.

In the form, select for the selected item number and close the form.

Click > Common Forms> to open the form.
Use the Simple view. For information about views, see Sales orders (form).

Click CTRL+N to create a new sales order header.

In the form, select a customer.
-
Click Yesto copy existing customer information to the sales order.

Click Noto create the new form without previous customer sales information.

In the field, select the type of sales order that you want to create. For more information about order types, see About sales order types.

Enter or modify the remaining information in the form as needed, and then click OK.

In the sales order line, select or type a modeling-enabled item number, quantity, unit, and unit price.

Press CTRL+N to create additional lines for the sales order.

Click to open the window and enter the configuration information.
The product is configured according to the customer's specifications.

Click OKto approve the configuration.

In the form, click .
-
Click to calculate the earliest date available for shipping the item.

Click OKto approve the configuration and close the form. Approving the configuration initiates the creation of the configured BOM and Route versions.

Click the sales order line and then click the tab to confirm that the newly created BOM and Route versions are assigned to the sales order line.

Close the form.
