The line property is default information about hour, fee, expense, and item transaction lines. The line property is applied to project invoicing and postings. The purpose of the line property depends on the project type:

• Time-and-material projects - The line property controls whether transactions are chargeable or non-chargeable, and whether the sales value is accruable or non-accruable.

• Fixed-price projects - The line property affects only the cost price.

Line properties can be set up on:

• Projects and project groups

• Categories and category groups

If no line property has been set up on the current project, project group, current category, or category group, you must enter a line property on each line when you enter transactions.
