When you post service orders, you post the service order transactions to the ledger accounts. The category that you select determines the ledger account to which the transactions should be posted. Categories are set up in , and you select a category for each service order and service agreement transaction that you create.

You can post service order lines in different ways. For more information, see Post service orders.

Note Note

To post service orders or service order lines, they must be signed off and the stage of the service order must allow posting.

If a service order line cannot be posted, the status of the line is rolled back to .


Posting a journal

Service order lines are posted to default journals that you select in the parameters form. The journals for posting service orders are set up in Project. For more information, see Set up project journal names.

Select the default journal for posting service order lines

  1. Click > > > .

  2. Click the tab, and then select journals for the four types of service order lines in the , , , and fields.

View posted transactions

  1. Click > > .

  2. Select the transaction type that you posted, and then view the list of transactions.

  2. Select the project that your service order transactions were posted to.

  3. Click and then select the transaction type that you posted.

View the project to which service order lines are posted

  1. Click > .

  2. Select a service order, and then click the tab.

  3. The project is referenced in the field.
