Click Inventory management> Setup> Inventory> Inventory model groups.

Select the inventory model to set up the date reservation.

On the Setuptab, select the Date-controlledcheck box to take the date of receipt of items into consideration when reserving items.

If the Date-controlledcheck box is cleared, available inventory with the lowest batch number will be reserved for sales orders.

Click the Backward from ship datecheck box to reserve available inventory batches with the date of receipt closest to the sales order delivery date. This requires that the Date-controlledcheck box be selected.

If the Backward from ship datecheck box is cleared, available inventory batches with the first date of receipt will be reserved for sales orders.
