You set up the budget model for a flexible budget in the form. Select as the . When you select this budget model type, you have the following options:

To set up dimensions by manually using the button, select the check box on the tab. Otherwise, the dimensions are available in the dimension setup when plan values have been entered in the flexible budget.

To set up the cost categories, service categories, and cost lines to plan on, click .

To set up the dimensions to plan on in the flexible budget, click .
Cost Category Setup
Cost category setup is used to specify the cost categories, service categories, or cost lines you want to plan on in the flexible budget. They are displayed automatically in the flexible budget. You must decide whether planning of costs is based on the cost categories or cost lines.
If planning is based on cost lines, select the check box for desired cost lines on the tab. This means that you cannot plan on the cost or service categories included in these cost lines.
These cost and service categories are blue in the flexible budget and you cannot enter any values for them.
Cost categories tab
On the tab, you enter the cost categories you want to plan on and predefine the for each cost category. If the field is left empty, the planning on this cost category is linear. You set up period allocation keys in > > .
The check box is selected automatically if an entry was made in the for this cost category. This means that the plan value for this cost category is calculated from plan values of the other cost category.
The button is used to enter the cost categories automatically, especially if entering all cost categories. It is still possible to modify the list of cost categories after you load.
The is used to implement a proportional dependency of another cost category. This means that the plan value in the flexible budget is not entered manually, and is calculated according to this calculation setup as a percentage of another plan value. Select a cost category in the field and enter a percentage in the field. You can also select . This means that the calculated plan value has an opposite sign than the ordinarily planned value.
Service categories tab
On the tab, you enter the service categories you want to plan on and predefine for each service category. If this field is left blank, the planning on this service category is linear.
The button is used to enter the service categories automatically, especially if entering all service categories.
You can modify the list of service categories after you load.
Cost lines tab
On the tab, enter the cost lines you want to plan on and select the following fields for each cost line as appropriate.

Select the check box if the costs are based on a cost line instead of planning values on cost categories included in this cost line.

If the field is left blank, the planning on this cost line is linear.

and - If you want to use this cost line for planning, use to define cost shares for the cost line.

If an entry was made in the for this cost line, the check box is selected automatically. This means that the plan value for this cost line is calculated from plan values of the other cost line.

The serves the same purpose as for cost categories to implement a proportional dependency of another cost line. This means that the plan value in the flexible budget is not entered manually, and is calculated according to this calculation setup as a percentage of another plan value. is only active if the check box is selected. You must select and and you can also select . This means the calculated plan value has an opposite sign than the typically planned value.

Click to define in a percentage how the costs planned based on this cost line are allocated between cost categories included in this cost line. If cost allocation is not defined, all costs planned based on the cost line are allocated to the first cost category included in this cost line. is only active if the check box is selected.
Dimension Setup
is used to specify the dimensions to plan on in the flexible budget. You can only select dimensions manually if the check box on the tab of the form is selected. Otherwise, each dimension is displayed in the form automatically when plan costs have been entered for the dimension in the flexible budget.
When entering dimensions, you must select the following fields for each dimension:

- The type of dimension.

- The dimension number. If no number is selected in this field, it means that the costs can be planned without a defined dimension. These costs can later be distributed on dimensions using the cost distribution.

- When it is selected, it means that you cannot plan on this dimension in the flexible budget.

- If working with workload in the flexible budget, you can select whether to enter data manually or to have data loaded automatically.

- Selected when the is set up to service category.
To delete plan costs for a specific dimension, delete the dimension in the form and all plan costs for this dimension are deleted automatically in the flexible budget.
