Use task groups to schedule production on alternative work centers when the assigned work center or work center group is not available. Task groups are usually made up of several work centers or work center groups that perform similar tasks, but have varying levels of skill or capacity.

Note Note

Though task groups are not required, if you use alternative work centers, you should set them up at the same time that you create the calendars.


Set up task groups

  1. Click > > > .

  2. Click the tab and press CTRL+N to create a new line.

  3. In the field, enter an alphanumeric identifier for the task group.

  4. In the field, enter the name of the task group.

    Note Note

    If you want to add additional task groups, press CTRL+N click to create a new line, and repeat Steps 3 and 4.


Assign work centers to task groups

  1. Select > > > .

  2. Click the tab, and in the field, select the work centers or work center groups you want to add to the selected task group.

    The name of the work center appears in the field. This field is read-only.

  3. In the field, enter a numeric value that represents the level of capability or skill of that work center.

    Note Note

    If you want to add additional work centers to the task group, press CTRL+N and select the work center from the list.
