To be able to set goals for employees, you must first create goal types. Goal types help organize goals in manageable categories. You can also use goal types to provide guidance and structure for the person who is to achieve the goal by creating content in a goal type template.

After a goal is assigned to the goal type, the subject text is available on the tab of the form.

To set up a goal type

  1. Click > > > > .

  2. In the field, enter a unique identifier for the type.

  3. In the field, enter a description that will help people assign goals that are appropriate for the type.

  4. Click the tab.

  5. In the field, enter introductory text for the type.

To set up a goal type template

  1. Click > > > > > .

  2. In the field, enter a number to indicate the order that the line of content should be displayed.

  3. To require a person to respond to the line of content, select the check box.

  4. In the field, enter the content text.

Tip Tip

Content text is also displayed in the text field at the bottom of the form. This is useful for longer, or multiple lines of text.
