Creating production groups is helpful when you create production orders. Production groups help to establish a relationship between production orders and the ledger accounts. Attach each production group to a default posting profile. The default posting profile guides how the transactions for the production orders in the group are posted to the ledger.

1. Select Production> Setup> Production> .

2. On the Overviewtab, in the Production groupfield, enter an alpha-numeric identifier for the production group.

3. In the Namefield, enter the name of the production group.

4. Select the Ledger - Itemstab, and for Items in processand Costingthat you want to use for posting material consumption, select the ledger accounts from the lists in the applicable fields.

5. Select the Ledger - Work centerstab, and for Work in processand Costingthat you want to use for posting material consumption, select the ledger accounts from the lists in the applicable fields.
