The multisite activation process includes a comprehensive series of data validation and data update tasks. The Multisite Activation Wizardperforms these tasks after the site dimension has been made active in all dimension groups and before the transactions are updated. The high-level updates are as follows:

Data Update Tasks

• For all entries in the Item coverage table ( ReqItemtable) where the following conditions exist:

  • The item is associated with a dimension group.

  • For the dimension group that is associated with the item, the Coverage plan by dimensionfield is set for warehouse.

  • The warehouse is selected.

  The site dimension is populated with the site that is associated with the selected warehouse.

• During upgrade from an earlier release, the default purchase, storage, and sales warehouses are moved from the InventTableModuletable to the InventItemPurchSetup, InventItemInventSetup, and InventItemSalesSetuptables.

  During the multisite activation following the upgrade, the corresponding site fields in the Default order settingsform are populated with the sites that are associated with each warehouse that was selected in the purchase order, inventory, or sales order sections of the item's master data.

  The Site specific order settingsform is also updated during activation to include a line for each of the sites in the Default order settingsform.

• For all route versions, the site value is taken from the site that is associated with the work centers and task groups that are selected in the route.

• If a warehouse is selected on the Customersform, the Sitefield is populated with the site that is associated with the selected warehouse.

  If the Warehousefield is blank, no changes are made.

• If a warehouse is selected on the Sales orderform, the Sitefield is populated with the site that is associated with the selected warehouse.

  If the Warehousefield is blank, no changes are made.

• If a warehouse is selected on the Sales quotationform, the Sitefield is populated with the site that is associated with the selected warehouse.

  If the Warehousefield is blank, no changes are made.

• If a warehouse is selected on the Vendorsform, the Sitefield is populated with the site that is associated with the selected warehouse.

  If the Warehousefield is blank, no changes are made.

• If a warehouse is selected on the Purchase orderform, the Sitefield is populated with the site that is associated with the selected warehouse.

  If the Warehousefield is blank, no changes are made.

• For all BOM versions that contain references to one or more warehouses, the site value is taken from the site that is associated with the warehouses that are referenced in the BOM.
