• If a value higher than the fixed length is entered when you create a ledger account, a warning is issued.

• If a value lower than the fixed length is entered, the system will offer to add zeroes up to the fixed length.

• If the input is not accepted and Control typefield value is Error, the update will be aborted.

  • If the field value is Warning, a warning will be issued, but the update will be accepted.

  • If the field value is None, there will be no warning.

The length of the account number is checked during the rename of a ledger account. In Basic> Periodic> Consistency check,the length is also checked, but there will be no corrective action.
