The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Description

View a list of pay rate increase or variable award guidelines that apply to the current employee.

  • If you select a fixed compensation guideline, the and tabs are available.

  • If you select a variable compensation guideline, the and tabs are available.

View details of the selected pay rate increase or variable award guideline.

View individual action lines. The lines are based on actions selected for fixed compensation plans in the event process setup.

View details of the action line selected on the tab.

View a list of variable awards, based on the variable award guideline selected on the tab. Composite awards are calculate per period, and a new award line is created for the period when preconditions change.

If, for example, an employee's award is a percentage of the base pay, and the base pay is changed during the year, then the total award amount for the year is split into two lines where each line make up a percentage of the current base pay.

To calculate composite awards, select the option in the field on the variable compensation plan.

Description

Description

An automatically generated description of the pay rate increase or variable award guideline.

The fixed pay that the pay rate increase or award guideline is based on or the fixed pay rate available on the day that the process was run.

The value of the guideline increase or award as a percentage of the current pay rate or point-in-time award. For point in time awards the calculation is based on the fixed plan valid at the selected point in time.

For fixed pay guidelines, this amount is a total of the actions that have been run by the event process.

For variable award guidelines, this is the guideline award amount.

The number of units of the award type assigned to the employee. This value is only applicable for variable award guidelines.

The value of the recommended increase or award as a percentage of the current pay rate. For point in time awards, the calculation is based on the fixed plan valid for the selected point in time

For fixed plans, this amount is a total of the increases recommended.

For variable plans, this is the total recommended award.

General tab

Field

Description

The employee for whom you can make recommendations to update the guideline increases or awards.

An event created by the event process.

The event version is updated when you recalculate the pay rate increase or variable award guideline from the form.

Method to calculate the pay rate or award guideline.

  • : Fixed pay guidelines are always calculated using this method.

  • : Variable award guidelines are calculated with this method if the award calculation on the variable compensation plan is .

  • : Variable award guidelines are calculated with this method if the award calculation on the variable compensation plan is .

The fixed plan that forms the basis of the award calculation.

The position of the employee that the pay increase or award guideline is created for.

The rating that the employee achieved for his or her performance. The rating is applied in the form.

  • : The pay rate increase is based on the base pay plus any fixed increase budget percentage specified for the company or organizational unit, or the award based on settings for the variable plan. For both, the amounts are prior to any impact by individual performance, company performance, or utilization range increases.

  • : The calculated target pay rate increase or award modified by individual and business performance. For example, a utilization percentage specified for the compensation plan may be applied.

  • : The pay increase or award guideline updated by the user responsible for the employee's compensation.

The cumulative pay rate amounts consist of:

  • : The base pay plus the guideline and the recommended amount, respectively.

  • : The total guideline increase is based on the guideline increases that are listed for individual actions in the field on the tab. The recommendation increase is a total of the recommended increase amount entered in the field on the tab.

  • : The value of increase calculated as a percentage of the base pay.

Fixed compensation plan that the employee is associated with.

The employee's current pay rate.

The employee's pay frequency.

The currency in which the employee is compensated.

The action that generated a guideline record. Actions are defined for individual fixed compensation plans in the event process setup.

The pay rate increase defined by the current action.

Guideline increase expressed as a percentage. If the is active, this percentage calculation is based on the pay rate guideline of the previous line.

Recommended increase amount. Until you enter a recommendation, the default amount is the guideline increase amount.

The difference between the recommended amount and the guideline amount, expressed as a percentage.

The action record selected on the tab.

View the and the values for the selected guideline, and enter your recommendations for the employee's fixed pay increase in the fields.

The pay range at the level of the employee.

Identifies if it is possible to update guideline values in this form.

Tip Tip

To activate a recommendation, the check box must be selected on the fixed or variable compensation plan. Alternately, you can select the field for individual actions or award types in the form when you set up a process event.


Indicates that the guideline value for the previous line is applied in the calculation of the guideline values.

This option is applied if the check box is selected in the form when setting up the process event.

Composite overview tab

The period when the compensation information is valid.

The compensation level within the current plan that the employee is set to.

The amount used to determine the award. This amount is either the control point defined in the fixed compensation plan or the fixed pay rate. When setting up the variable compensation plan in the form on the tab, you can select either or as the variable award basis.

The amount calculated from the unit value multiplied by the number of units.

View the guideline totals for the part of the year covered by the award period.
