General tab

Displays information about the store area selected on the Overviewtab.

Manage inventory locations in a warehouse.

Displays information about picking routes.

This button is only active if the store area is a picking area type.

Store area

Unique identification of the store area.

Name

Longer description of the store area.

Area type

Indicates which type of store area is involved.

There are two types of store areas and every location is one or the other:

• Input area– Used to refer to the storage location of items when they are received in inventory. Store areas are grouped into store zones. An example of an input area system: ABC classification.

• Picking area- Used to determine picking routes. The picking lines that make up a picking route are composed of items that are stored in locations within the same picking area.

Automatic activation

Automatically activate a refill pallet transport from the bulk location to the picking location if items are missing on the picking location when:

• A picking route is activated.

• A picking route is started.

• A refill pallet transport is completed.

• The quantity at the picking location is less than Required minimumspecified on the Warehouse itemsform (available from Inventory management> Item> Setupbutton > Warehouse items).

Mode of handling

This option is available for store areas of type Picking areaonly.

The mode of handling refers to the two ways of picking: using a handheld device and registering picked items continuously, or else printing the picking list on paper and updating Microsoft Dynamics AX after completion of picking.

The setting here is used as default on the Picking list registrationform.
