General ledger> Setup> Posting> Automatic account type selection

Use this form to set up automatic account-type selection. Set up the selection according to the first character that you enter, when you create a new ledger account, in the Ledger accountfield.

To enable the Chart of accounts form, select the Automatic account type selectioncheck box in the Parameters form.

Example

Enter 2in First character, and then select Profit and lossin the Account typefield.

Enter Bin First character, and then select Balancein the Account typefield.

Fields

Field	Description
First character	Select the first character in ledger account number for automatic selection of account type, for example, 5selects Balance.
Account type	Select account type for the character, for example, Profit and loss, Balanceor Header.
