Use this form to change the test type for a test. A change is only allowed before you assign a test to a test group. In addition, you can also change the unit of measure of a quantitative test when you change the test type.

Examples

A quantitative test is initially defined with a test type of integer and a unit of measure with zero decimal precision. The quality manager wants to change the test type to fraction in order to define quality specifications and report test results with greater decimal precision. The manager changed the test type and the testing unit of measure.

A qualitative test is initially defined with a test type of option, along with the definition of the associated variable and enumerated outcomes. The quality manager wants to change the test to a quantitative measure with a test type of fraction and to assign a testing unit of measure. However, the test is already being used in a test group, so the test type cannot be changed. The quality manager created a new test with the test type of fraction so it could be used as a replacement for the old test. Using the validity dates for tests assigned to a test group, the manager phased out the old test and phased in the new test.
