Use this form to define queries in the data sources linked to by the data link. Each tab provides settings for creating an SQL statement.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Shows all tables from the database pointed to by the data link. Select the tables you want to use in the query.

Enter an identifier for the query.

Enter a description of the query.

Displays the identification of the data link.

Specify the number of seconds until the query is interrupted if the database does not answer. Zero equals no time out.

Specify attributes.

Specify user name used when connecting to the data link.

Specify whether to save authentication.

Set up a prompt.

Specify password used when connecting to the data link.

Specify user name used when connecting to the data link.

Select the cursor location from the following options:

  • Client: Cursor is created on the client.

  • Server: Cursor is created on the database server

Used for system values.

Start a new expression.

Select the first of the fields from a table to be included in the filter, or enter a value.

Select the operator that you want to use:

  • =

  • Like

  • !=

  • >

  • >=

  • <

  • <=

Specify field or range type.

Select the second box from a table to be included in the filter.

Microsoft Dynamics AX does not check whether the value you specified is the same type as the box it is being compared with.


Select the conditions for the succeeding filter.
