A value of 0 (zero) indicates an unlimited number of lines. A value above 30,000 is not accepted. The value is copied to each new journal to allow the user to override the setting when creating a new journal.

When posting a journal with more lines than indicated in the Lines limitfield, the system generates the needed journals and posts them. The numbers of the new journals are presented in the infolog.
