This number sequence allocates bar codes to the fixed assets within this group when the fixed asset is created or when the periodic job, Assign fixed asset number to bar code, is activated, depending on the setup of bar coding options in General ledger parameters. When Bar code equals fixed asset numberis selected, bar codes are assigned automatically when a new fixed asset is created. When this parameter is not selected, the bar codes are assigned to the fixed assets when the Assign fixed asset number to bar codeperiodic job has been completed.

Autonumber bar codesand Bar code number sequenceare used only if a fixed asset group-specific number sequence for bar coding is required. If those fields are blank, the default bar code process is used, and the default number sequence for assigning numbers to fixed assets, which is set up in General ledger parameters, is used for bar coding, as well.
