Use this form to create, validate, post and view journals.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Tabs

Tab

Description

Overview tab

Create a new journal, and view open, posted, or all journals according to the selection in the list at the top of the form.

General tab

Select or view additional posting parameters for the journal that is selected on the tab.

Setup tab

Select additional setup options, such as the offset account and cost category for the journal that is selected on the tab.

Enter and view parameters that indicate how the journal that is selected on the tab is blocked for use.

View details about the approval procedure, if any, for the journal that is selected on the tab.

Filtering records

Select one of the filter settings:

  • - All transactions.

  • - Transactions that are not posted.

  • - Posted transactions.

Enter the name of the journal, or select the name from the selection list.

The number of the current journal, drawn from the voucher series set up in the form.

Enter a description for the journal.

If the check box is selected, the journal has been posted.

NoteBy indicating whether or not a journal has been posted, you can filter the journals that appear in the Journalform.

If this check box is selected, this journal enables transactions on this dimension.

Select to delete journal lines when posting has been completed. LedgerJournalTable_RemoveLnAftPost_More

Enter the default offset account that is automatically copied to all lines in the journal.

Mark the journal as private. Only the user associated will have access to the journal.

The user that has access to the journal. Only the user associated will have access to the journal.

The user group that has access to the journal. Only the users associated with the group will have access to the journal.

If the journal has been blocked by the system, this check box will be selected and you will not be able to post in the journal. To release a blocked journal, clear this check box. The check box can also be selected manually.

If the journal has been reported as ready, this field displays the user identification (ID) of the user who reported it as being ready.

If the journal has been approved, this field displays the user ID of the user who approval it.

If the journal has been rejected, this field displays the user ID of the user who rejected it.

If the current journal has been posted, this field displays the date of posting.

Displays error messages that were generated while validating the journal are stored. After the errors have been corrected and a new validation has been successfully run, the error messages will be automatically deleted.

Description

Create or view the journal lines of the journal that is selected on the tab.

Perform an automatic inspection that the lines in the journals that are selected on the tab are ready for posting.

Select or . The function that you select is carried out on all the lines in the journals that are selected on the tab.

If you want lines without errors to be posted and lines with errors to be transferred to a new journal, click .

Otherwise, click . If an error exists, no lines are posted, and you receive an error message.

Start the Excel wizard to import a complete journal with transactions.

Select , , or for the journals that are selected on the tab.

Print journal reports.
