Use this form to create, maintain, validate, post, and print journals of type location.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Description

Displays information about the journal, content, and posting status.

Displays information about the journal selected on the tab. You can enter information about packing slips and posting.

Select reference, inventory dimensions, and the handling mode.

Set up permissions for using the journal.

Displays transaction history for the journal.

Description

Create or view the lines of the selected journal.

Validate the entire journal. You can validate journal lines individually in the window.

Post the journal.

Create a new journal with the journal setup specified on the tab in the form and, at the same time, create a new line.

View errors that were found during checking or posting.

Open a menu with the following items:

  • – Creates lines for the location journal.

    If you select the check box, the quantity field will be completed with the number from the inventory transactions.

  • – Query, update, and print packing slip information.

Print the journal.

Use the box to specify which journals you want to display.

If, in the box, you select , then by clicking and then , you can bring up packing-slip updating of the purchase referred to in the and boxes on the tab.

NoteBy default, criteria are not set for journal numbers. This means that all open journals are deleted if is set to and all posted journals are deleted if is set to .

Shows the name of the journal selected when you created a new journal. Create possible journals in the form.

The journal number. A journal name can have several journal numbers, each of which has its own journal lines.

Shows the location journal type that you selected. The following options exist: Item arrival and Production input.

Description of the journal.

Number of journal lines.

Specifies whether the journal has been posted. Click Lines to view the specific journal lines.

Delete journal lines when posting is completed?

Enter the packing-slip number for the item receipt.

Specifies the supplier. Use this field to identify possible purchased items from a specific vendor. The field is only visible in the Item arrival journal.

Shows which module the record originates from.

Shows the number of the reference specified in the field.

Select an item configuration to specify an item with specific attributes.

Specifies the size of the item.

Specifies the color of the item.

Enter the warehouse in which you will store your items.

Enter the Batch number dimension. If you select and in the upper section of the form or the form, you can change the batch number for the transfer order line.

Location inside a warehouse. If you select and in the upper section of the form or the form, you can change the location number for the transfer order line.

Unique ID for the pallet (Serial Shipping Container Code).

Serial number dimension. If you select and in the upper section of the form or the form, you can change the serial number for the transfer order line.

Indicates that the items registered in the journal should be moved with a pallet transport.

If you specify neither a location of the type Inbound dock nor a pallet ID, the journal will not post successfully. You must select the check box and/or the check box.

On the tab on the form, you can define different values that will be copied to new lines when you click and then click . On the lines, you can change values.

If you use the , and check boxes, Microsoft Dynamics AX will find the location of items in connection with item receipt and stocking of items from the production.

Check boxes can be used in the following ways:

  • No check boxes selected – Specify directly on the journal line the location where the items will be stocked.

  • check box and/or check box selected – Specify a location of the type Inbound dock on the journal line. When posting the journal, Microsoft Dynamics AX finds a location at the warehouse where the items can be stocked and automatically moves the items to that location. How the items are actually moved is up to the company.

  • check box, check box, and/or check box selected – Specify a location of the type Inbound dock and a pallet ID on the journal line. When posting the journal, Microsoft Dynamics AX finds a location at the warehouse where the pallet with the items can be stocked. It then generates a pallet transport, where the pallet is moved.

Select this check box if you want the system to look for room for the item at its regular picking location. Set up the picking location in the form (Click > Common Forms> > > ).

Select this check box if there should be a bulk location for the item in consideration of the item's store zone. Set up the store zone in the form (Click > Common Forms> > > ).

Note Note

if you selected the check box and there is room at the picking location, no bulk location will be found.


User whom the journal is private to.

Specifies whether the program has blocked the location journal. You can neither save new lines nor edit existing lines when the journal is blocked.

User group that the journal is private to.

Displays the date when the journal was posted.

User who posted the journal.

Journal number that the lines are transferred from.
