Duty or sales tax as fixed amount per unit
You can calculate duties and sales taxes based on a fixed amount per unit, for example, EUR 10.00 for each unit.
Sales tax is frequently calculated based on the net amount, and the duty amount is added after this calculation.
The duty amount is added to the net amount before the sales tax is calculated if the selected sales tax code is set up as follows on the tab in the form:
-
The value is selected in the drop-down list.
-
The check box is selected.
Example
Net amount = EUR 10.00.
Duty amount = EUR 10.00 apiece.
Sales tax = 25%.
If the is selected:
Sales tax = (10.00 + 10.00) x 25% = EUR 5.00.
Duty = EUR 10.00
Total amount = EUR 10.00 + 10.00 + 5.00 = EUR 25.00.
If the is cleared:
Sales tax = EUR 10.00 x 25% = EUR 2.50.
Duty = EUR 10.00.
Total amount = EUR 10.00 + 10.00 + 2.50 = EUR 22.50.
Unit conversion
If the transaction (for example, a sales order) is expressed in another unit, it is converted automatically, according to the setup in the form.
Example
Your company sells cookies.
The duty for cookies is 0.10 apiece.
Your company only sells cookies in boxes with 100 cookies in each box.
In the table, you have specified that 1 box = 100 pieces.
You create a sales order of 1 box of cookies.
To calculate the duty, 1 box is converted into 100 pieces.
100 pieces is multiplied with the duty of 0.10 apiece, so the total duty is 10.00.
