Use this form to update the time dimensions and translations included in a BI project.

Note Note

If you change the label ID of a table or field in Microsoft Dynamics AX, you must manually make the same change to your BI project (using SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio). Label ID changes are not replicated to your BI project by using this form.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Use this tab to select the BI project that you want to update.

Time Dimensions

Use this tab to select time dimensions for the BI project.

Metadata Translations

Use this tab to select the languages that table and field names must be translated into.

Update Options

Use this tab to select update options.

Buttons

OK

Updates the selected BI project and closes the form.

Cancel

Closes the form. The BI project is not updated.

Fields

Project file

Select the BI project file that you want to update.

Enable logging

Select this check box to record data about the BI project updating process.

We recommend that you enable logging for troubleshooting purposes only.

Log file

Location where the log file will be saved.

If you want the log file saved to a different location, enter the location.

Open Updated Project

Select this option to open the BI project after it has been updated.

Update Perspective

Select perspectives. The corresponding cubes in the BI project will be updated.

Perspective

A list of the perspectives that have their usage property set to OLAPor Both.

Update Time Dimensions

Select this check box to update the time dimensions of the BI project.

Use the standard calendar

Select this check box to update time dimensions using the standard calendar. Then do the following:

  • Enter the starting and ending date of the standard calendar.

  • Select the time periods that you want to include in the project.

Use the fiscal calendar

Select this check box to update time dimensions using the fiscal calendar. Then do the following:

  • Enter the starting and ending date of the fiscal calendar.

  • Select the time periods that you want to include in the project.

Update translations

Select this check box to update the translations included in the BI project.

Overwrite existing translations

Select this check box to overwrite existing translations in the BI project.

Update

Select the check box for each language that you want table and field names translated into.

Available languages

The list includes all languages for which you have a valid license.

Create Cubes

Select this check box to create new cubes while updating the BI project.

Update Cubes

Select this check box to update cubes while updating the BI project.

Create Dimensions

Select this check box to create new dimensions while updating the BI project.

Update Dimensions

Select this check box to update dimensions while updating the BI project.

Update Measure Groups

Select this check box to update measure groups while updating the BI project.

Update Dimension Usage

Select this check box to update dimension usage information while updating the BI project.

Update Hierarchies

Select this check box to update hierarchies while updating the BI project.

After Update Script

If you want a script to run after the BI project is updated, browse to the file that contains the script.
