Use this form to create and manage dimension values, which you can use to:

  • Analyze and classify financial transactions, which are usually organized according to voucher and account number. Additional grouping and classification options are available by assigning dimension values to transactions.

  • View data from different perspectives so that you can effectively track amounts across accounts.

The three default dimension types are:

Cash discount and exchange rate adjustment postings use the same dimension values that were used for posting of the original transaction.

Note Note

You can use dimensions to analyze revenue for the entire company, or by department, employee, activity, and so on.

Click Microsoft Dynamics AXmenu > Tools> Development tools> Wizards> to add dimension types.

The employee in the form who is in charge of this dimension.

Dimension in the consolidated company to which the balances and transactions that are assigned the selected subsidiary dimension are transferred during consolidation. For this transfer to happen, the value must be selected in the field on the tab in the , and forms in which subsidiary accounts are added to the consolidated company.

If you want to simplify the dimension structure of the consolidated company, the same consolidated company dimension can be assigned to several subsidiary dimensions.

Select the check box if the dimension is blocked for postings. The lookup field for dimensions does not show blocked dimensions on the tab, but they must show on the tab.
