|
The alternative item number is not used and orders are registered as backorders if the order quantity exceeds the quantity that is available in stock on-hand. |
|
The alternative item is delivered if the quantity of available stock on-hand is less than or equal to zero. |
|
The alternative item number is always delivered, for example if the current item is replaced by a new item. |
Note |
---|
If you use alternative item numbers, item numbers and texts that retrieved from the alternative item are printed on the invoice. The sales statistics are updated for the alternative item number. |
Example
If an item number is voided and replaced by a new number, enter the new item number as an alternative item number for the old item. For the old item, the field can be set to when levels of the old item are zero. If orders are entered for the old item number, the new item number is delivered. Alternatively, you can set the field to for the old item, which ensures that the new item number is delivered first when levels of the old item are used up and equal zero.
If two or more different item numbers cover a single item number, it is always a specific item number that is delivered, regardless of the item number entered when the sale is made.
