If you are an Administrator or Power User on the computer, you can load a configuration (startup settings) for an Application Object Server (AOS) instance from a configuration stored in the registry or from a configuration file.
Load a configuration from the registry
-
Open the Server Configuration utility ( Start> Administrative Tools> Microsoft Dynamics AX Server Configuration Utility).
-
In the Application Object Server instancebox, select the AOS instance to modify.
-
In the Configurationlist, click the configuration you want to open.
Import a configuration from a file
Although you can use the Opencommand to view a saved configuration, Microsoft Dynamics AX does not store the settings from the opened file to the registry. To store saved configuration files to the registry, you must use the Importcommand.
-
Open the Server Configuration utility ( Start> Administrative Tools> Microsoft Dynamics AX Server Configuration Utility).
-
In the Application Object Server instancebox, select the AOS instance to modify.
-
Click Manage, and then click Import.
-
Browse to the configuration file you would like to use ( *.axc), and open it.
