Allows you to search for a specified string in the script currently displayed in the Script Editor window and replace it with another string. This feature is useful for quickly substituting items in large scripts. For instance, if a field name has changed in your dictionary, this selection can help you to quickly find and replace occurrences of that field name in your scripts.
When you use selections from the Script menu, Dexterity will search the script beginning at the current location of the cursor until it reaches the end of the script. If you want to search the entire script, be sure to place the cursor at the beginning of the script. |
Enter the text you want to find and the text you want to replace it with, then click OK; the focus will move to the first occurrence of the first string. The string will automatically be replaced with the second string you entered, and the string will be highlighted in the Script Editor window. Choose Find Next from the Script menu to move to the next occurrence of the search string in your script.
Search and replace operations are case-sensitive. You cannot undo replacements by choosing Undo from the Edit menu.
When the Script Editor window is active, choose Replace from the Script menu.
