Allows you to define a data type. The data type can then be used to specify how that field's data will be stored and displayed. Defining a data type includes specifying a control type (the type of data that will be used, such as a string, integer and so on), the data's keyable length and storage size for fields using this data type, and adding static values and a format, if necessary. Refer to the following topic for more information about creating data types:
From the menu bar: To create a new data type, point to New in the Explorer menu and choose Data Type. To view an existing data type, point to View in the Explorer menu and choose Data Types. Select one in the list and click the Open button in the Resource Explorer.
From the Resource Explorer: Choose Data Types in the Base group for the current dictionary. To create a new data type, click the New button in the Resource Explorer. To view an existing data type, select one in the list and click the Open button in the Resource Explorer.
