Journal names are the templates to select from when you create journals for cost transactions and service transactions in Cost accounting> Journals> Cost transactionsor Service transactions.

Journal names are created in Cost accounting> Setup> Journal names. There are two different types of journals:

• Cost, which is used for cost transactions.

• Services, which is used for service transactions.

In addition to the Journal type, you also specify the following when you create a journal name.

Overviewtab:

• Voucher seriesby entering the Number sequence code.

• Dimensionsby selecting the appropriate dimensions.

Generaltab:

• Delete lines after posting, if applicable.

• Approval, if applicable.

• Offset transactionto specify if and how an offset transaction will be posted.
