Scheduling depends on many factors that you must consider in the operation scheduling process.

You can schedule references or subproductions into the overall plan, and you can synchronize a reference with a production order. If you synchronize a reference with a production order, the dates of the subproductions are moved in time to accommodate the production order they are synchronized with.

Run an operations schedule

Run operations scheduling to schedule each operation in the production route on a work center or a work center group and to assign date durations to individual operations.

To perform the operations scheduling for a production order:

  1. Select > .

  2. On the tab, select the production order that you want to schedule.

  3. Click the button, and then select .

  4. Click the tab.

  5. In the field, view or select the alphanumeric identifier for the production order that you want to schedule.

  6. In the field, verify the name and description of the production order.

  7. In the field, select the scheduling direction on which you want to base the operations schedule.

  8. In the field, select the date on which you want the operation performed. The default date is today's date (system date). For scheduling directions where the scheduling date is not relevant, leave the system date in the field.

  9. To schedule all reference production orders that are related to this one, select the check box.

  10. The check box is only available if is selected in the previous field. Select the check box to base all previous and subsequent reference productions on the scheduling of the current production.

  11. If you want to schedule with finite capacity, select the check box. NoteThe parameter should also be set in a work center in order to schedule with finite capacity.

  12. If you want to schedule with finite material, select the check box. NoteThe parameter should also be set in a work center in order to schedule with finite material.

  13. Click the tab.

  14. If you do not want to schedule a queue time for the current production order, select the check box.

  15. If you do not want to schedule a setup time for the current production order, select the check box.

  16. If you do not want to schedule a process time for the current production order, select the check box.

  17. If you do not want to schedule an overlap time for the current production order, select the check box.

  18. If you do not want to schedule a transport time for the current production order, select the check box.

  19. Click OKto run the operations scheduling.

  20. Click the functions buttons on the form as follows:

    • Select: Select the production orders that you want to schedule, by using a standard query window.

    • Default values: Set up default values for scheduling direction, cancellations, capacity and material limitations, and so on, for selected productions.

    • Sorting: Sort or prioritize the processing sequence for production orders. You can sort in ascending or descending item-based level order based on delivery date, on the status of the production based on the scheduled start date, or on the production priority based on the delivery date.
