Periods are generated by period types. Split periods are periods that cover more than one period, for example, two months or two weeks.

Create a period type

  1. Click > > > .

  2. Press CTRL+N to create a new period type.

  3. Enter a name for the period type and select a period frequency.

Split a period

  1. Click > > > .

  2. Select a period and then click .

  3. In the form, select the appropriate period and then click .

  4. You can change the contents of the field as required.

  5. Click .

    An extra line covering the remaining days of the period appears.

Generate periods for a period type

  1. Click > > > .

  2. Select a period and then click .

  3. In the form, enter the start date of the period. Periods always start at the beginning of a period unit, for example, the start of a month.

    Note Note

    If you have already created transactions for this period, the field is dimmed, with the new period starting the day after the end date of the last generated period.


  4. In the field, enter the number of period units that you want to create.

  5. Optionally, select the check box to create employee periods with the period type that you have selected.

  6. Click to generate the periods.
