Microsoft Dynamics AX includes specific settings to support Arabic. They are only available if the client is running in Arabic.

Set the client to run in Arabic

  1. From a Microsoft Dynamics AX client, click Microsoft Dynamics AX> > .

  2. In the list, select AR (Arabic).

  3. In the list, select AR (Arabic).

Select an Arabic calendar

After you have set your language to Arabic, the Preferred calendarfield appears in the Options form. Use this field to select the calendar you use to calculate year and date values.

  1. To open the Options form, click Microsoft Dynamics AX> > .

  2. On the Generaltab, select a value in the Preferred calendarfield. Options include the following:

    • Gregorian- Default. The calendar used for non-Arabic languages.

    • Hijri- A calendar that can be used in regions that use the Hijri calendar based on the algorithm that is used by the government of Kuwait.

    • Um al-Qura- A calendar that can be used in regions that use the Hijri calendar based on the Um al-Qura algorithm that is used by the government of Saudi Arabia. This calendar is available only if the Microsoft Dynamics AX client is on a computer that is running Windows Vista.

  3. Press CTRL+S to save your changes.
