You can set up Microsoft Dynamics AX to create an activity automatically when you create a sales quotation, campaign, campaign target, or telemarketing call list is created. You can also set up Microsoft Dynamics AX to create an activity automatically when a target status for a telemarketing call list is changed to Call Back.

If you make changes to a sales quotation, campaign, campaign target, or telemarketing call list, the changes will appear in the existing activity records. However, changes to the activity do not affect the sales quotation, campaign, telemarketing call list, or any of the call list targets.

The activities that you create will appear in the form and can be synchronized to and from Microsoft Office Outlook if you have set up to synchronization between Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Office Outlook.

Create activities for quotations, campaigns, call lists, and call list targets automatically

  1. Click > > .

  2. On the tab, in the create activity lists, select whether to automatically create activities.

You can select one of the following options for creating an activity automatically:

  • - An activity will be created automatically when a sales quotation is created and a sales employee is defined.

  • - An activity will not be created for the specific action.

  • - A prompt will appear and you can choose to create an activity.

  • - A prompt will occur appear and you can choose to create an activity or create and edit an activity.

  1. In the category, activity type, and activity phase lists, select default values for the follow-up activity.

  2. In the activity purpose fields, enter a default description for the follow-up activities.
