You can use batch printing to send electronic documents at a later time, just as you can physically print documents at a later time. The documents are treated identically by the batch job, with documents to be printed and documents to be sent electronically intermixed in the batch job itself.

If a document is correctly set up to be sent electronically, it will be sent automatically, regardless of when the document is sent to the printer. If a document is not set up to be sent electronically, it will be printed physically.

Batch and physical prints

There is no procedural difference between printing a posted record and sending a posted document electronically. Both processes require you to post the record and then select the print setup and parameters.

When you post a record from a form on which an electronic document has been set up, and if the recipient has a correctly configured endpoint and endpoint policy, the document is sent to the recipient (endpoint) automatically when you print the posted record with the print option.

The Printcheck box on the corresponding print form must be selected, and the option to print to the screen must not be selected. Otherwise, the record will be posted and the document will be displayed on the screen, but it will not be sent electronically to the endpoint.

Print management

If you do not want to print documents that are sent electronically, use the form for the document on the vendor account or customer account, and enter a value of 0 in the and fields.

For either of these forms, if the value in the and fields is 0, the document will not be printed when you post the record that generates the electronic document, even if the Printcheck box is selected.

If the value in the field or the field is greater than 0, the document will be printed when you post the record that generates the electronic document.

Batch printing

You can print and send electronic documents as a batch job, as with any other printing batch job. When you post in batch mode, the entire posting process might include records that will be printed and sent by regular mail, as well as records that will be sent electronically. Both types will be posted and processed normally. For more information, see Processing batch jobs.
