Use this procedure to create product catalogs that include items that are available for purchase requisitions. A product catalog consists of product groups. Product groups are represented by nodes that are organized in a tree structure with the following possible node types:

  • – Can contain item nodes, category nodes, and other group nodes.

  • – Contains the selected product items from inventory.

  • – Contains the selected category items (non-catalog items).

Create group nodes

  1. Click > > > .

  2. In the upper pane, press CTRL+N to create a new node.

  3. Type an identifier for the product group in the field and a name in the field.

  4. In the field, select .

The field indicates whether the group node is the top node in the hierarchy. If it is a top node, a check mark is displayed.

  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to create more group nodes.

Create item nodes

  1. Click > > > .

  2. In the upper pane, press CTRL+N to create a new node.

  3. Type an identifier for the product group in the field and a name in the field.

  4. In the field, select .

    • In the form, press CTRL+N in the lower pane to add individual items to the node.

  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 to create more item nodes.

  7. After you have created the necessary item nodes, assign each item node to a group node. For more information, see the "Add component groups to product groups" procedure.

Create category nodes

Use this procedure to create category nodes that contain category items. Before you create category nodes, you must set up one or more category items in the form. For more information, see Set up category items.

    Note Note

You can add only one category item to each category node.

  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 to create more category nodes.

After you have created the necessary category nodes, assign each category node to a group node. For more information, see the "Add component groups to product groups" procedure.

Add component groups to product groups

If the selected product group in the upper pane is a group node, you can add component groups of any node type in the lower pane.

  1. Click > > > .
