Deactivating the multisite functionality after it has been activated is not a recommended activity and is only possible when the current company contains no data. However, there are certain situations where deactivation may be appropriate. These situations include:

  • A customer who upgrades from an earlier release of Microsoft Dynamics AX and creates a new company account for which the customer does not want to use the multisite functionality.

  • An existing Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 customer who installs a fresh copy of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and does not want to use the multisite functionality.

Caution note Caution

We highly recommend that the user who performs this task is an authenticated Microsoft Dynamics AX administrator who has access to (at the minimum) the AdminSetup and the AdminMisc security keys.

Deactivate the multisite functionality

  1. Click > > > .

  2. In the form, click the button. The program displays a message asking the user to confirm the deactivation of the multisite functionality by selecting a check box.

  3. Select the check box in the dialog box, and then click OKto proceed with the deactivation.

You can also click Cancelto stop the deactivation process.

Note Note

It is a precondition for this task that no dimension groups exist in the current company. If there are one or more inventory dimensions groups defined, the multisite functionality is considered to be in use, and you cannot deactivate it.
