Create routing groups to define parameters that pertain to a group of routes. You can define how costs are calculated, how planning will take place, how jobs should be managed, and the kind of feedback that you would like for the group.

You must set up routing groups before you can set up routes.


  1. Click > > > .

  2. Press CTRL+N to create a new line.

  3. On the tab, in the field, enter an identification of up to ten alphanumeric characters.

  4. In the field, enter a short description of the routing group that you are creating.

  5. Select the tab.

    The field contains the name of the routing group that is selected in the tab.

  6. Under :

    • Select the check box to include setup time on the work center in the cost estimate for the item. Because setup times are usually a part of the price calculated for the item, this field is usually selected.

    • Select the check box to include run time on the work center in the cost estimate for the item. Because run times are usually a part of the price calculated for the item, this field is usually selected.

    • Select the check box to include the planned quantity of the finished product (calculated per operation on the route) in the estimate.

  7. Under :

    • Select the check box to enable automatic consumption of setup time when a production is started or finished.

    • Select the check box to enable automatic consumption of run time when a production is started or finished.

    • Select the check box to enable automatic reporting of the number produced as finished when a production is started or reported as finished.

    • Select the check box to report operations associated with the current routing group as finished manually. This can be overwritten when reporting productions as finished.Select the check box when feedback from routes and job journals is used to determine whether the operation is finished.

  8. Select the tab.

  9. In the column, view the route or job type for which the parameters are set.

  10. In the column, select the check box to activate this route/job type in cost calculations, planning, and feedback.

  11. In the column, select the check box to include job management on this route/job type. If selected, jobs are scheduled by the system.

  12. In the column, select the check box to include this route or job type on the working time calendars. If selected, the system plans the operation using the defined Working calendar. If cleared, the system uses the standard 24-hour Gregorian calendar.

  13. In the column, select the check box to include capacity reservations for the selected job type or route type. If selected, the program reserves capacity when planning. It will not make a reservation for a work center if it can be used for another job at that time.
