Use this form to create and manage dimension values.

You can also view dimension value transactions and balances, prepare budgets by dimension values, and print dimension statements using dimension values.

The three default dimensions are:

If your company has purchased additional dimensions, an administrator can use a wizard to activate and set up the new dimensions. To start the wizard, click Tools> Development tools> Wizards> .

Tip Tip

To export the company chart of accounts, dimension values, or exchange rates directly into the databases of subsidiaries or other companies that run on external databases, see Using AIF to integrate with external systems.

- Posted transactions in the period that has been set up for the balance.

Show dimension balances by period for the dimension value that is selected on the tab.

Select the dimension for which the dimension values are shown on the tab.

View the balance of the selected dimension value. For information about how to define the balance calculation, see View the balance by dimension.

View the dimension that is selected in the tab.

Enter or view a unique code that is used to identify the dimension.

Enter or view a description of the dimension.

Enter or view a group dimension if is selected in the drop-down list that is connected with consolidations.

To view the drop-down list, click > Periodic > , select one of the consolidation forms, and select the tab.


Select the check box if the dimension is blocked for postings.

Note Note

If you have activated dimension sets by selecting a value other than in the field in the form, the table that opens when you select a dimension in other forms does not show blocked dimensions on the tab, but includes them on the tab.


Employee who is in charge of this dimension. Employees are set up in the form.

Select the check box to hide the minus sign on the report. Typically, revenue and expenses are displayed in both credit and debit balances so that credit balances have a minus sign and debit balances have no sign. When this check box is selected, the minus sign in front of revenue on the report is not displayed.

Column number in which the selected dimension is printed when balances are printed.

Example

In the form, on the tab in the lower pane, enter the number of the column in which you want the selected dimension to be printed in the field. For example, if you set the field to 2for a column definition that shows the current balance, the balance for this account is printed in column 2. Total accounts are often placed in column 2.

Select the check box to print the account or dimension in bold.

Select the check box to print the account or dimension in italics.

Select the check box if the account or dimension printout should be preceded by a blank line.

Select the check box if the account or dimension printout should be followed by a blank line.

Select the check box to underline the text when the account or dimension is printed.

Select the check box to underline the amount fields when they are printed.

Select the check box to block the dimension value for cost transactions in the section.
