You can divide a journal line amount in a periodic journal into a certain number of periods by using the Save journal as periodic journalform.

1. Click General ledger> Periodic> Periodic journalsto open the Journalform.

2. Press CTRL+N to create a new periodic journal, and enter the required details.

3. Click Linesto open the Journal voucherform.

4. Enter the required details.

5. Press CTRL+S to save the journal line.

6. Click Split for periodsto open the Save journal as periodic journalform.

7. In the Start datefield, select the starting date for division of transactions into periods.

8. In the Number of periodsfield, enter the number of periods to generate new transactions. The transaction amount will be distributed evenly between the new transactions.

9. In the Unitfield, select the unit for periodic transactions.

10. In the Period intervalfield, enter the interval between the periods.

    You can also set up periods in the Save journal as periodic journalform by using the General ledger> Journals> General journal> Lines> Period journal> Save journalform. Select the periodic journal number and periodic journal name. You must select the Auto splitting on periodscheck box to allow division of transactions into periods.
