You can use the Marital statusform to create codes to indicate the marital status of an employee, and to define rates for tax deduction based on the marital status.

  1. Click Staff accounting> Staff administration> Setup> Marital statusto open the Marital statusform.

  2. Press CTRL+N to create a new marital status code.

  3. In the Codefield, enter the code for the marital status.

  4. In the Marital statusfield, enter a description of the marital status.

  5. On the Generaltab, in the Deduction ratefield, select the appropriate tax deduction rate based on the marital status of the employee.

    Note Note

    Only those employees with children can claim a tax deduction. These rates are set up in the Ratesform. You must select the deduction rate for the rate type as Employee.


  6. Press CTRL+S or close the form.
