Window Layout window: Menus

Tools menu: Link Prompt

This item allows you to link a field to its text prompt. When a field is linked to its prompt, the prompt will be dimmed when the field is disabled. In addition, if the field's Required property is set to true, choosing Show Required Fields from the Help menu will display the linked text with the font color and style as specified in the User Preferences window.

When you choose Link Prompt, the layout window will change to prompt linking mode, until you choose Link Prompt from the menu again. While the window is in prompt linking mode you can link fields to prompts by clicking in a field and dragging the pointer to the text you want to link the field to. A flashing black line will indicate that the link was successful.

Tools menu: Link Lookup

When you choose Link Lookup, the layout window will change to lookup linking mode, until you choose Link Lookup from the Tools menu again. While the window is in lookup linking mode you can link fields to lookup buttons by clicking a field and dragging the pointer to the lookup button you want to link the field to. A flashing black line indicates that the link was successful.
