Simulating a measurement update allows you to test the results calculated by the measurement formula without updating the values posted to the scorecard. You can perform a simulation as many times as you want.

1. Click Balanced Scorecard> Periodic> Simulate measurements.

2. To limit the simulation to a specific scorecard, objective, or measurement, click Select.

3. In the Date of updatefield, enter a date for the simulation. If you do not enter a date, today's date is used.

4. Under Type, select the type of simulation to perform. You can choose from the following options:

   • Past dueTo simulate an update for all periods that are not yet calculated.

   • Credited– To simulate all periods that lack a value because one transaction has been offset by another.

5. To start the simulation, click OK.

6. To view the transaction information as a graphic, click Graphical indicator. One indicator is shown for each simulated transaction.

You cannot simulate measurements that have a Closedstatus.
