The form makes it possible to change inventory dimensions for

  • Open transactions.

  • Any transactions that are not owned or linked to another inventory reference.

For example, if items were sold with wrong batch or serial numbers, or a wrong warehouse was used for issuing items.

Additionally, the form can be used for marking as an alternative to using the marking functionality. Marking inventory links item receipts with item issues.

Copy the correct inventory dimensions from one transaction to the other

  1. On the tab of the form, select the receipt transaction whose inventory dimensions are being copied. The receipt transaction is unavailable when you move to the issue transaction.

  2. Select the issue transaction to which the inventory dimensions are being copied.

  3. Click for the issues section to copy from the receipt transaction to the issue transaction. The marking is complete.

Caution note Caution

There are two Copybuttons. Always click for the section where inventory dimensions are being copied to. Clicking the wrong button changes inventory dimensions and cannot be undone.

Manually inserting batch or serial numbers

  1. On the tab of the form, select the receipt transaction for the inventory dimensions that are being copied. The receipt transaction becomes unavailable when you move to the issue transaction.

  2. Fill out appropriate fields for batch/serial number creation, making sure to select under on the tab.

Now, when items are received or issued, batch/serial numbers do not have to be filled out, and they are not automatically assigned. They can be filled out in the form using the , or button on a received transaction.

Note Note

At this point, transactions can be recalculated. Click to adjust and update cost values on the issue immediately. All open transactions for the item are recalculated.

We recommend that you use the function only periodically, as transaction volume requires.

Splitting transactions

Transactions with settled quantities are locked, and thus cannot be edited or marked. Split settled transactions into one transaction for the settled quantity, and another for the unsettled quantity. Now inventory dimensions can be edited for the unsettled quantity transaction.

Note Note

There are no checks on items entered on the form. Consequently, there is potential for problems to arise if they are not handled properly. For example, multiple items with the same serial number can be sold. As a result, we recommend that access to this feature be limited to inventory managers and the like.

- When running the recalculation directly from the form, all open transactions on the item are recalculated. Performance decreases when there are large numbers of open transactions. As a result, we recommend that you periodically close the inventory.- On-hand inventory is not checked in this form. This means that items can be moved causing negative inventory situations.
