Create an e-mail template in HTML

Create an e-mail identification, and give it a name that you can easily identify later, such as Alert e-mail. For more information, see Create e-mail identifications.

Connect the identification to the Alerts function. For more information, see Define an e-mail identification for Alerts.

In the form, select the field and select a language code.

In the field, enter a sender name that indicates that the purpose of the e-mail message is to send an alert from Microsoft Dynamics AX.

In the field, enter a sender e-mail address.

In the lower pane of the form, create records for each language that you need. After you have created a template for a particular language, users can receive e-mail messages in that language.

For each record (template) enter the following information:

In the field, enter a subject for the template. The subject could include merge data (see a list below).

In the field, select the (Default) layout or layout, depending on how you want your alert e-mail message to appear.
Note Be sure that an e-mail address is defined in the form for the users who need to receive alerts by e-mail. Click Microsoft Dynamics AXmenu > Tools> Optionsto open the form.

Insert links to alert information in the e-mail template

In the form, click .

In the e-mail editor enter the link text that you want to appear in the e-mail messages. For more information, see About setting up alert e-mail templates.

Select the link text and click Insert> .

In the dialog box, type one of the link types listed below in the field, and click OK.
Note You must replace any text in the field, so if the field contains the text http://this should not be included in the link text.

On the Filemenu, click Saveto save the contents.
Insert merge data elements in the e-mail template

In the form, click the button.

In the e-mail editor enter the merge data element that you want to appear in the e-mail messages. For more information, see About setting up alert e-mail templates.
