You can set up a Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) system in the CRM module of Microsoft Dynamics AX using the Microsoft Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI). The CTI registers and administers incoming and outgoing telephone calls.

Set up Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI) in Microsoft Dynamics AX

  1. Click > > > .

  2. In the form, click and then select the check box.

  3. Click > > > > to view the list of phone and modem line devices installed on your computer.

    If you have recently installed a new telephone or modem line device and you do not see it listed, click to update the list.

  4. Select the line device you want to enable and then click .

  5. To view additional information about the line device, click .

  6. Restart your Microsoft Dynamics AX client.

Enable Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI) for a user

  1. Click > Common Forms> .

  2. Select the employee for which you want to set up TAPI and select the tab.

  3. Select the check box. This will enable the incoming call detection for the employee.

  4. Restart your Microsoft Dynamics AX client.
