Expiry days
You can specify how long a created sales quotation is valid by entering a whole number in the field.
Thereafter, the expiry date is calculated by adding the number of days specified in the field to the date that the sales quotation was created. If no value is defined in this field, the expiry date will be equal to the date that the sales quotation was created.
The user can change the expiry date.
Follow-up days
You can specify the default start date of a planned follow-up activity for the sales quotation by entering a whole number in the field.
The start date of the sales quotation follow-up activity is calculated by subtracting the number of days specified in this field from the expiry date of the sales quotation. This is a default date only and can be changed by the user.
If no value is defined in this field, the start date of the follow-up activity will be equal to the expiry date of the sales quotation.
To automatically create follow-up activities for sales quotations:
-
On the tab, in the section, select , , or from the list.
Note Ensure that you have specified a sales person to be responsible for the sales quotation in the form.
Example
If you set the expiry day to 10 and the follow-up day to 2, and then create a sales quotation on day 1, the expiry date for the sales quotation will be on day 11.
If you have enabled automatic creation of follow-up activities for a sales quotation and a sales person has been specified for the sales quotation, a follow-up activity will be created for the sales person. The start date of the follow-up activity will be day 9, because day 11 (the sales quotation expiry date) minus 2 days is day 9.
If day 9 is not a work day, the follow-up activity will be assigned an earlier start date. This start day will be a work day as close as possible to the original start date.
