Overview tab

Manually create lines for the items that you want to create minimum inventory proposals for.

Note
You can also use a batch job to create lines automatically. See the description of the Journal linesbutton below.

General tab

View additional information about the selected item.

Statistics

View item statistics that are used in calculating safety stock levels.

Dimension tab

View the inventory dimensions for the selected item.

Validate

Open a batch job, which you can use to check the journal before posting it.

Post

Update the new minimum inventory level for the items.

Log

View records of minimum inventory levels that were previously posted.

Functions

Delete journal lines. You can create lines using the Journal linesbutton.

Inventory

Open the Dimensions displayform where you can select which dimensions you want to appear in the form.

Journal lines

Open the following submenu items:

• Create lines– Create lines for multiple items using the Create journal lines for proposed minimum inventory levelsbatch job.

• Calculate proposal– Calculate a proposal for a new minimum inventory level for the item using the Calculate proposal for minimum inventory levelbatch job.

Item number

Unique user-defined code that is assigned when items are created. We recommend that you do not use special characters or spaces in the item number.

Configuration

Select an item configuration to specify an item with specific attributes.

Size

Item size.

Color

Item color.

Warehouse

Enter the warehouse where you want to store the items.

Minimum

Minimum on-hand inventory for the item in inventory units. The quantity is the minimum number of items that must be in the physical inventory (safety stock). Either planned purchase orders or planned production orders are generated when the minimum on-hand inventory is reached.

Proposal

Proposal for minimum on-hand inventory generated from the Calculate proposal for minimum inventory leveldialog box.

New minimum

New minimum on-hand inventory level for the item. You can either choose to enter values in this field manually, or you can automatically transfer the calculated proposal value by selecting the Proposal = New minimumcheck box in the Calculate proposal for minimum inventory leveldialog box.

Journal

Identification of the journal.

Line No

Identification of the line.

Date

Enter a date to delimit the transactions included in the proposal.

Dimension No.

Identification of dimensions for the item.

Cost price

Cost price per unit.

Current inventory value

Inventory value of the current minimum inventory level.

New inventory value

Inventory value for the new minimum inventory level.

Increase

Increase in inventory value if the new minimum is used.

Avg. issues per month

Average issue quantity per month.

Monthly std. deviation

Standard deviation of issues per month.

Planned order type

Current planned order when cash flow forecasting.

Lead time

Lead time in days.

Working days

If this check box is selected, days are specified according to a workday calendar.

Batch number

Enter the batch number dimension. If you select Edit linesand Explode linesin the upper section of the Shipment/ Receiveform, you can edit the batch number for the transfer order line.

Location

Location inside a warehouse. If you select Edit linesand Explode linesin the upper section of the Shipment/ Receiveform, you can edit the location number for the transfer order line.

Pallet ID

Unique identification for the pallet (Serial Shipping Container Code).

Serial number

Serial number dimension. If you select Edit linesand Explode linesin the upper section of the Shipment/ Receiveform, you can edit the serial number for the transfer order line.
