The hierarchy contains an overview of the organization of the company, including the units that the company is composed of. You can select these units from the window where you activated the overview. The following types of organization units are recognized: Line, Matrix, and Project. Each has its own tab. Not all tabs are displayed or are accessible each time you activate the overview. It depends on where you activate the overview from and from which types the location can be selected:

  • The tab is active in connection with hiring and positions.

  • The and tabs are active in connection with contact persons and employee matrix/project setup.

  • All tabs are active in connection with strategic planning.

The organization is created in the Organization units (form)dialog box.

The tree structure

The organization structure for each type is shown as a tree structure.

  • In the tree, you can click the plus sign ( +) to expand the structure.

  • Click the minus sign ( -) to collapse the structure. The tree structure is a hierarchy with main and underlying units. Underlying units can, in turn, be broken down into a hierarchy of subordinate units which branch out into any number of levels.

  • Click the uppermost unit and then click the subordinate levels to view additional units.

  • Click ESC to close the dialog box.
