An XBRL unit is an element in an instance document that specifies the measure applied to numeric values. A unit depends on the element type and data type specified in the Label Selectiondialogue box.
Add or modify an XBRL unit

In Report Designer, on the XBRLmenu, click Units.

In the XBRL Unitsdialogue box, a list of the available XBRL units is displayed. To add a new unit, click New. To modify a unit, click Modify.

In the New XBRL Unitdialogue box or the Modify XBRL unitdialogue box, enter or modify the following information.
Label
Description
Unit Name
A unique name for the unit. For example, Miles, Gallon, or MilesPerGallon. Use letters, numbers, and underscores. Do not use spaces.
Unit description
A unique description for the unit. For example, the description for Salarymight be Expenditure for salaries of employees.
Define a new measure
The name of a new unit of measure to be applied to numeric values. For example, enter GBPfor Pounds.
Use existing unit(s)
Select this option to use existing units. Specify the first and second measures and the operator.

Click OK. The new or modified unit is displayed in the list.

In the XBRL Unitsdialogue box, click Close.
Delete an XBRL unit

In Report Designer, on the XBRLmenu, click Units.

In the XBRL unitsdialogue box, select the unit to delete, and then click Delete.

Click Yesto permanently delete the selected item, and then click Close.
