Sometimes, your customers want more than one quotation for the items they are interested in, typically with a range of prices. Each quotation might reflect different materials (steel, copper, aluminum) or different finishes (brushed, polished, matte). In these situations, you can send several alternative quotations and link them.
Example
Your customer wants a quotation for a lamp, and he is not completely certain what he wants. Therefore, you offer him three options:

Steel base with a polished steel shade.

Copper base with a brushed copper shade.

Aluminum base with a matte aluminum shade.

So, you send him 3 quotations that are linked in a way so acceptance of one of them leads to the loss of the other two.
