Depending on whether you want to record a past absence, or to request a future absence, you can:
Register a past absence

Create a line for each date you were absent. To do so, you can:

Press CTRL+N to create a new line for each absence date.

If you are registering an extended period, click and then enter your date range.

In the field, register a date for the absence, and in the and fields specify the absence codes and a brief description of the absence.

If you register absence in terms of hours, as defined in your field, record the number of hours you were absent in the box.

Click to send the journal to the absence approver.
Tip You can type a message to the journal approver on the tab, in the field. The approver cannot edit your note, but can type a response in the field, which you in turn cannot edit.
Note Even if there were no absences during the period, you still need to transfer the journal for approval.
Request a future absence

In the field, register a date for the absence, and in the and fields specify the absence codes and a brief description of the absence.

If you register absence in terms of hours, as defined on your , record the number of hours you were absent in the field.

To select the line press the SHIFT key, left-click the line, then click to send the line to the absence approver.
